It has been so long since I have written. A lot has happened. We had a wonderful holiday season. It's always great when you share it with family. It is soo fun to share it with the grand kids. Emma had her 1st birthday on Feb. 15th She received some books from her parents on how to be a big sister. It was a great announcement to let the family know there is a new baby on the way coming in Sept. We are very excited about this new addition to the family. Wow!!! I am going to have 4 grandchildren!!!! Alex had his birthday last Wed. and turned 6. I can't believe it! I picked him up after school and we a had a Date! We went for ice-cream and to the toy store for a present and home to play at Grandma's for a while. Being a Grandma is just too fun!
This past weekend, Kiersten,Bonnie, Mom and I went to My Sister Denise's for the weekend. It was great fun. It always is when the Gunnell Girls get together. There is alway food and more food along with giggling and laughing that never stops until we get home. How grateful I am for my Mom and Sisters! They are such a great support that I often take for granted.
Kiersten had such great fun. We went shopping and she got her Easter Dress.
It was great fun with the aunts and Grandma. She made a wonderful friend with Liz's Andelyn this weekend. Andelyn is 3 and kept telling Kiersten," I love you Kiersten". Kiersten thoroughly enjoyed her weekend.
Tonight all the fam is coming for a family home evening of food and bowling.
It will be great fun to spend some time together.
Well thats what's happening with ma bake and fam. I'll try and keep up a little better from now on.

A Day at work

I am just here at work and thought I had better post something to my Blog. It has been a good week. Monday Mother, Bonnie, Shauna and I attended the funeral of our Aunt Edra. It was a good funeral and we were able to see cousins we hadn't seen in years. It's funny how the death of a family memeber can make extended family feel so important. We now feel the need to keep in touch now and those family connections are so important. But isn't that what it is all about is family. Eternal families.
Life is good at the Rasmussen house. Michael was asked to the Girls Choice dance by Laney Thompson. She sent a box of starburts to a party he attended last Fri. and he had to go through everyone to find the intials of her name to find out who had invited him. He was a very frustrated guy before he figured it out. We are now trying to figure out how he should answer. We attended a meeting last week to inform parents of a trip the band, orchestra, and jazz choir wil be taking. The end of april they will be performing at Disney Land and touring around. Sounds like fun!
Kelly is taking his parent to Salt Lake tomorrow for Ardens MRI on his hip. We will hopefully find out what the problem is and be able to relieve his pain.
Halloween is coming! It has always been a favorite holiday because it means decorating and making homemade donuts!!! Halloween night the fam is having a donut and pumpkin carving party! If your interested you might want to show up for donuts and cider!!1

Life and times of MaBake Rasmussen

Life at the Rasmussen's is at times quite interesting. This past weekend we have been making and bottling spaghetti sauce. One pan ended up scorched and a terrible mess to scrubb. It also ended up splattered all over the kitchen with tons of dishes and clean up. I swore I would never make this again at home, I would go the the cannery!! My husband had other ideas. While I was at work today, I saw him come and put a large wrapped gift in the pick-up. I hollered out the door " hey sexy what ya doin?" I went out and he gave me the gift. I was really shocked. Wow a large gift just for me! For What!! He said I should open it. So I did and it was a large 24 quart stock pot just to make spaghetti sauce in. He told me that it wouldn't splatter or burn in this one. I guess there is more spaghetti sauce to be made in my new pot!! ( what can I say)
